Nine Inch Nails
The TRON Ares soundtrack has so far been one of my favorites from Trent’s more recent works as a composer. Divergence takes things a step further with incredible bonus tracks and collabs from artists such as Boys Noize, whose other remixes of NIN tracks have been on repeat for me since first dropping back in April.The inclusion of artists like Pixel Grip and Arca were a really pleasant surprise. Divergence adds elements to the initial soundtrack that really drives things home for me.

Olivia Rodrigo
Rodrigo has truly outdone herself once again with this album. With influences such as The Cure and Siouxsie and the Banshees being evident, this album is one that can be enjoyed not only by pop music lovers, but by those of us on the edgier side of the spectrum as well. Her collaboration with Robert Smith is such a gem on an already excellent album and I hope to see her working with many of her other influences in the near future as well. Many of the tracks do have a bit more of a melancholy tone, but songs like “u + me = <3,” “my way” and “expectations” really resonate with me and bring the energy carried out through her last two albums. “expectations” in particular is by far my favorite track, and she's right, your future husband is NOT at a bar in Silverlake!

Dead Channel Sky (CD)

This album has been constantly in my rotation ever since it first dropped. Clipping has been one of my favorite artists since high school and I truly love the more industrial elements they bring to the table. Dead Channel Sky is such an incredible break from the traditional themes of the rest of their catalogue, with the cyberpunk concept that differs heavily from their last few albums and shows off just how unique they are as a group, My personal favorites off the album are “Dominator,” “Dodger” and “Code.” “Code” in particular is an absolute gem to me because only they could figure out how to sprinkle in a deez nuts joke into a bar. I'm absolutely in love with this album and beyond excited to see what they do next.

Nine Inch Noize (CD)

This is BY FAR my current favorite recent release from Nine Inch Nails. I've been listening nearly nonstop since April and use many of the tracks regularly as a dancer and choreographer. Most of the remixes are of songs that are already favorites of mine from both NIN and How to Destroy Angels, so of course I'm a tad bit biased, but this album has genuinely blown me away in every way. I don't think I can ever listen to the original version of “Closer” anymore, it just isn't the same. While Boys Noize isn't exactly a favorite of mine I do thoroughly enjoy each and every one of his NIN remixes (as mentioned in my review of Divergence) and think he brings a much needed element that has been missing lately.
