I’m always interested in time capsule type movies, even ones that were made over twenty five years after it takes place. I love how specific the time setting is. Obviously a little exaggerated, but I could recognize some of the culture from talking with my grandma. It’s easy not to relate to time periods you aren’t familiar with. However this is an example of how kids have always been kids - no matter the hair or clothes. Kids are famous for dancing on TV while the adults don’t understand. When has that ever not been the truth? John Waters is one of my favorite filmmakers and this makes a case for his best. Although Serial Mom is a tough movie to beat

All profits from buying these sessions on Fugazi's bandcamp goes to Albini's charity, so the album itself is even for a great cause.

A magnificently jam-packed compilation featuring hard hitting guitars with soft and loving lyricism. Power Pop is a genre where meaning has changed overtime, but this compilation serves as a proud example of what it's stood for. And don't worry, just because it was an RSD title, we still have a few copies in our Various rock sections ;) (p.s. The Nastyfacts song 'Drive My Car' is a 200+ dollar 45 so the compilation is worth it just for that song.)

What more need be said about these two polka-dotted prog-math-dance-rocking Quebecois space aliens currently taking over the musical world- Klek et Khn de Poitrine? Their viral KEXP set from February 2026 blasted them into the spotlight alongside a perfectly timed release of their sophomore LP, Vol. II, in April. The music is looped and layered in real time via Khn's feet, as he operates an entirely custom double-neck, combination microtonal bass and guitar. While Klek holds down the drums with absolute perfection- unable to miss a beat and lose the loop. The end result is tight, punchy, exciting, new, and refreshingly danceable. Already well solidified as my group/release of the year. The future of music is looking at us through polka dotted eyes. If you have not already, take these both home today.
