The California Primary Election is Tuesday, June 2, 2026 and it’s more important than ever to make sure we’re registered to vote and to encourage our friends and family to register too. To be eligible to vote on June 2nd, your registration must be postmarked or submitted electronically no later than May 18, 2026. Registering to vote online is super easy and takes just a few moments.
You may think you're already registered, but it's a good idea to double check. If you've moved recently and your DMV record has an old address, or if you do not have an in-state ID, or you have changed your name you must register to vote. Check your registration status online here.
There are many important races on the June 2nd ballot, including Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, 52 U.S. House of Representatives seats, 20 CA Senate seats, the Mayor of Los Angeles, and various ballot propositions.
To help keep things safe for voters and election workers, consider voting early (many locations will be open for at least 4 days beginning the Saturday before Election Day) or skipping the line by dropping off a completed ballot at a secure ballot drop box or voting location.
