At Peace [Translucent Pink Glass Vinyl] (LP)
Propagandhi
Propagandhi have never been shy about speaking out on their political and social views, and that trend continues on At Peace . The album leans more into a heavy modern rock sound than straight-up punk, and you can hear the heavy rock and metal influences creeping in while still remaining very Propagandhi. “No Longer Young” laments the inevitability of growing older, while the title track lashes out at the current administration, proclaiming, “Hedge every bet / Lick every boot / Make every appeal / Prostrate yourself to the killing machine to spare yourself from its wheels.”

Unlearning Vol. 2 (LP)
Evidence
Evidence gets introspective on the incredible Unlearning Vol. 2 . The followup to 2021's Unlearning Vol. 1 , the tracks are deceptively easy-going, with a rawness and an unpredictable experimental approach just beneath the surface. The production is lush, hypnotic, and often just straight up lovely. Featuring guest appearances from Domo Genesis, Larry June, Theravada, and The Alchemist, Unlearning Vol. 2 is a must-hear for fans of smart, timeless hip-hop.

No Fear Of Time (CD)
Black Star
This one was worth the wait. As the duo Black Star, No Fear of Time was Yasiin Bey and Talib Kweli's first release in two and a half decades. Originally released in 2022 as a digital only record, this excellent, Madlib-produced album is now available to hold in your hip-hop-loving hands. As you'd expect, the album is smart and timely, with standout beats that sometimes veer into the experimental. No Fear of Time is a consuming listen that'll keep you hitting rewind; there's something new to discover (or rediscover) on every track of this fantastic album.
