Amoeba Hollywood and Amoeba San Francisco are having special early listening events for David Bowie’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Star! on Thursday, June 13 at 5pm!
Come hear selections from the box set, get a free poster made for the event (while supplies last) and win some cool Bowie and Amoeba goodies, including a copy of the CD box set, Audio Technica prizes, Bowie tote bags, turntable mats, Amoeba gift certificates and more!
Amoeba Hollywood will play the album and give out a raffle ticket + poster to attendees starting at 5pm. There will be a quick break at 5:30pm to announce the winning raffle prize numbers before we enjoy some more Bowie!
Amoeba San Francisco will start playing the album at 5pm and pull the winners for the raffle at 6pm.

David Bowie’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Star! is a 5CD/Blu-Ray Audio set that explores Bowie’s journey from February 1971 through the creation of the Ziggy Stardust character, the recording of the iconic The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars album, and captures the international mania that surrounded the Ziggy phenomenon in the form of UK radio sessions and TV performances, as well as live tracks from Ziggy and the Spiders’ October 1, 1972 show at the Boston Music Hall. It contains 29 unreleased tracks, covers early songwriting demos, recordings from Bowie’s band, The Arnold Corns, rehearsals at Bowie’s then-home, Haddon Hall, BBC sessions, singles, live performances, plus outtakes and alternative versions from the original album recording sessions, which have been newly mixed by original album producer, Ken Scott. Rock ‘n’ Roll Star! will also be available on 1LP compiling the alternative takes and mixes from the recording of The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars.
