Oddisee's 2013 release The Beauty in All deserves another spin. Out now on white vinyl and opaque purple vinyl, this instrumental LP's title sums it up: you could easily soundtrack your day with any of these selections and get a 200% boost in your mood. The tracks radiate old-school soulfulness, whether Oddisee is trafficking in retro-futurism or taking it back to the eternally cool era of classic funk. The Beauty in All is cinematic, gorgeous, and brilliantly alive.

There was a whole lot of hoopla, trash talk and baggage that preceded the release of this film. I feel it was unfair [After all how many darling male directors had sexual relations with the starlets to “push” the performance of the acting or whatever and yet their films were taken very seriously/praised] and over shadowed a good film with good acting from all. Truly a chilling film and worth your time to watch.

These New Yorkers weave a ferocious blend of metal and hardcore that is sure to satisfy ya.

This is part two / a companion piece to Helionomicon. It is insane just how much talent is in this band and just how much both these albums rule. I find new dimensions and journeys upon repeated visits to both albums. I am blown away with the twist and turns, the avant garde riffs and multi directionality these two release have. Already in my best of year list.

I will not rewrite what I already have about Cave In and just how much their music means to me. But, when this album came out it changed my life and the way I heard music. I am so very happy to see this get reissued and available again on LP.  Also available as a deluxe version with many previously unissued tracks. Highly recommend.

The negative energy just oozes from this release. This album definitely has a foot steeped in the hopelessness of black metal and experimental doom while not being exactly ether.
