Amoeba Review
The hardest working band in Memphis returns with another set of whiskey-soaked, punk-inflected roots rock on Women & Work. The tour-heavy band sound like they’ve put a lot of time into their first record in three years, as one listen to “Sometimes,” a bar-ballad for the ages, will attest. Aided by higher-fidelity production and beautiful touches of pedal steel guitar and organ, Ben Nichols’ gruff voice and heartfelt lyrics have never sounded better.
