Fancy That (CD)
PinkPantheress
Amoeba Review
The new record from PinkPantheress is irresistible. Fancy That feels fresh, intoxicating, and just straight up fun. The album is a blissful blend of UK garage, drum and bass, and big beat rhythms with hypersweet pop gloss: It sounds like the future while giving clear big ups to the storied past of British dance music. The album's beat-driven, clubby sound was inspired by the oeuvre of artists like Basement Jaxx, Groove Armada and Fatboy Slim, and with samples from Jessica Simpson, Panic! at the Disco, Underworld, and (yes) Basement Jaxx, it's filled with banger after banger.
