Amoeba Review

Blondshell's latest, Violins, is exquisite. Sabrina Teitelbaum keeps listeners on their toes with these passionate, urgent songs. The opening track starts with sadcore singer-songwriter slowness before ramping up into a bittersweet grunge riff with an unforgettable chorus. It's a preview of how many surprise twists this album will take, whether that means subtle changes in genre or mood, or a sharp-as-a-knife lyrical turn of phrase. Violins is about shining the light on beauty and goodness in a world full of violence and heartbreak – it's a vital, compelling, brilliant record.
