Vide Noir (CD)
Lord Huron
Amoeba Review
04/18/2018
Vide Noir finds Lord Huron experimenting and evolving from their well-loved indie folk sound. There’s still that lingering sense of wistfulness and melancholy beneath their melodies, that evocative feeling of open roads and big dreams. This time, though, there’s something new in the mix: lush strings, arena rock guitar riffs, and cinematic soundscapes. Lest this sound like a total reboot for the band, never fear — they’re just as thoughtful, heartbreaking, and gorgeous as ever. A well-crafted, lyrical LP that’s sure to win over new fans while keeping old fans satiated.
