Veronica Electronica [Clear Vinyl] (LP)
Madonna
Amoeba Review
Madonna and electronic music are a match made in dancefloor heaven. The legend's latest, Veronica Electronica, consists of rare and previously unreleased remixes of 1998's electronica album Ray of Light. The album's name comes from the alter ego Madonna created around the release of her at-the-time boundary-smashing Ray of Light; these tracks have long been the source of speculation by fans and while some were released on singles, many of these tracks have been reworked. Dubbed out acid meets Balearic beats in "Frozen" (Widescreen Mix and Drums). "The Power of Good-Bye" (Fabien's Good God Mix Edit) sounds like a dancier cousin of Massive Attack's Mezzanine album. That's just a selection...and what a spectacularly fun journey this odyssey into late '90s electronica and trip-hop is.There's much to discover on this euphoric, fantastic collection.
