Marauder (CD)
Interpol
Amoeba Review
08/22/2018
The princes of (soft) darkness are back with Marauder, an interesting -- and successful -- pitch shift for the original post-punk revivalists. The tracks here aren't necessarily "upbeat" but they're definitely a bit more danceable, a bit more evolved. Perhaps that's down to the band working with Flaming Lips producer Dave Fridmann who recorded their sessions on analog for a more intense, live feel. Urgent, appealing, and strong throughout, Marauder is an exciting step forward for Interpol.
