Amoeba Review
Zoh Amba's Eyes Full is one of those albums that leaves an indelible impression, a collection of songs that reminds you of the first time you heard a band that connected with you in a singular way. Because there's just nothing else like this out there. Acclaimed as a saxophone artist in NYC's avant-garde scene, this is Zoh Amba's debut release as a singer-songwriter and it's propelled by a feverish intensity. The sound is gritty rock 'n' roll with elements of muddy blues and Appalachian folk. These are songs for the dispossessed, for those who long to be seen as individual people, viewed with tenderness and respect. A scorching, beautiful, eye-opening record.
