Hen's Teeth (CD)
Iron & Wine
Amoeba Review
Sam Beam, professionally known as Iron & Wine, has released his 11th studio album, Hen's Teeth. The serene mood on the album takes a modern aesthetic and lightly drags it through the Laurel Canyon scene and '70s folk-rock vibes to form a contemporary sound anchored by the roots of the past. Folk trio I'm With Her joins Beam on "Robin's Egg," a sunny, gleeful song overflowing with joy, and "Wait Up," with a more subdued, introspective mood. Beam is also joined by his daughter Arden Beam on vocal harmonies on "Grace Notes" and "Singing Saw."
