Gentling The Horse At The Walt Whitman Museum (LP) (Upcoming Release)
Caroline Rose
Amoeba Review
Gentling The Horse At The Walt Whitman Mall is Caroline Rose's first album on their own Suck Records imprint. As you can probably tell from the title, this is an album that keeps you on your toes with wry lyrics and a singular vision. Rose's songwriting centers on outsiders, those who are trying their best to play it cool and pretend everything's normal, even as the structures of society crumble all around them. The songs are relatable, tender, and sharp-eyed, written with grief for the world we find ourselves in and a little bit of humor that cuts through. Produced by John Congleton, this is a tense, simmering indie rock album with a gentle heart.
