Distorting Time [Blue Vinyl] (LP)
Radiator Hospital
Amoeba Review
Radiator Hospital's Distorting Time is brilliant. Drawing inspiration from Young Marble Giants and Tall Dwarfs, the band's Sam Cook-Parrott recorded his backing music to a 4-track cassette recorder and sang over it, an approach that yields an intimate, introspective feel to the work. The songs move from joyfully chaotic and experimental to lo-fi and grungy indie rock. This is an album about the strangeness of the passage of time and that curiosity and confusion underpins the proceedings. A thoughtful, emotionally affecting soundtrack for exploring the mysteries.
