Balloonerism (LP)
Mac Miller
Amoeba Review
Long a source of internet chatter, fans of the late, great Mac Miller will surely be familiar with Balloonerism. Recorded between 2013-2014, the tracks are dreamy and experimental, with appearances from SZA and Ashley All Day, with producer Thundercat pulling double duty as the album's bassist as well. Pulling elements from throwback soul and jazz, these tracks seem to float on a hazy, heavenly cloud. Balloonerism is an album to get lost in, even as it'll make you miss this essential talent even more.
