7 Piano Sketches is an improvisational, largely instrumental release from the always impressive Andre 3000. The majority of the tracks were originally recorded between 2010-2013 while Andre was living in a barely furnished home (with one of those furnishings being a piano), with "Blueberry Mansions" and "I Spend All Day Waiting for the Night" stemming from the 2000 sessions for Outkast's Stankonia. Languid and dreamy, these pieces drew inspiration from Thelonious Monk, McCoy Tyner, Stephen Sondheim, Joni Mitchell, Philip Glass, and Vince Guaraldi. A mood-setting, ultra-cool, lovely EP.
