Well I Mean is the debut solo release from The Front Bottoms' Brian Sella. As Sella, he writes songs that feel akin to his work with The Front Bottoms' yet have a DIY-inspired, shambolic, vulnerable appeal all their own. Lyrically, the tracks move from slightly goofy to self-deprecating to introspective and raw. Sella's guitar-driven compositions lean heavily into indie rock with a little folk rock inspiration from Emperor X; the addition of horns and strings makes the songs shine with an almost otherworldly beauty. If you're a fan of classic indie and earnest emo, you'll dig this one.
