Future-soul artist Jacob Banks excels at merging his bluesy voice with electronic beats and soulful melodies. Referencing everything from Jamaican dancehall to UK garage and R&B, this is an eclectic album that reflects the Nigerian-British artist's background, and makes good use of his rich vocals. “Be Good To Me ft. Seinabo Sey” rides along on a warped-sounding electronic hook, while “Caroline” is a lush ballad with a rousing chorus. “Mexico” is an upbeat, bouncy track with a chorus and background vocals that call to mind classic soul.
