Synopsis
Ahmed El Maânouni's musical documentary explores the sound and impact of the internationally popular Moroccan acoustic band Nass El Ghiwane, an ensemble that formed in the early 70s and remains active to this day. Their singular style-blending local music, poetry and dance forms, western instrumentation, and socially conscious lyrics-is captured in performance for rapt audiences. 88 min.
