Amoeba Review

Julia Jacklin's The Gem has a warm, inviting, autumnal quality to it. These are searching songs, as Jacklin explores the tension between wanting to love and be loved and wanting to feel totally free. Her signature blend of indie folk and alt-country suits these pensive, somewhat wistful songs well. The Gem is just that, a deeply satisfying listen from one of Australia's greatest contemporary singer-songwriters.
