Amoeba Review
Your Grandparents make thoughtful, lushly produced, smart hip-hop. The Dial finds the LA-based group focused on the idea of time: wasted time, time heals all wounds, time that seems to last forever, time that doesn't last long enough. Influences from J Dilla to G-funk, house music to ESG, inform the endless summer sound of the album. The music is breezy and funky, the lyrics wise and empathetic. This is the good stuff right here.
