Amoeba Review

Ian Sweet's Shiverstruck is a dreamy, dazzling record. Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Jilian Medford employs acoustic guitars, strings, piano, and drums to create a hazy, downbeat sound that feels like falling in (and out of) love. Confessional and catchy, the tracks vividly depict the emotional gymnastics necessary to revel in nostalgia for a lost love, end a relationship, and wallow around in your own problems. Heartbreak rarely feels as good as it does to listen to this incisive and insightful album.
