Life In Small Spaces [Transparent Orange Vinyl] (LP)
Black Marble
Amoeba Review
Black Marble moves in new directions on Life In Small Spaces. Chris Stewart's minimal synth tracks feel warmer and brighter than ever before. The synths are hypnotic, insistent, and driving as ever but this time around, the songs lean on post-punk guitar and incorporate live drum samples. The interplay between guitar and synth makes the songs feel like recently unearthed '80s classics and calls to mind influences like Pylon, The Necessaries, and R Stevie Moore. It's an album about being an artist, keeping your music uncompromising and your way of life as uncomplicated as possible in order to pursue your dreams to the fullest. One of the year's best post-punk records.
