Influences (CD)
K.D.A.P.
Amoeba Review
Kevin Drew of Broken Social Scene has released a solo album as K.D.A.P. (Kevin Drew a Picture), entitled Influences. The title reflects the fact that Drew reached back to his early electronic and ambient music interests for this intriguing, instrumental set. “The Slinfold Loop” is lovely and minimalist while “Dooms Dive” brings in a bit of a post-punk feel with its busy rhythms. The album has a joyously experimental vibe that is frequently uplifting, as on the freewheeling synth track, “Explosive Lip Balm.”
