II [Clear White Vinyl] (LP)
LNZNDRF
Amoeba Review
Supergroup LNZNDRF - Scott and Bryan Devendorf (The National), Ben Lanz (The National, Beirut), and Aaron Arntz (Beirut, Grizzly Bear) - has graced its fans with a second studio album from the same writing sessions as before, continuing to shape their exploratory jams into songs. "Brace Yourself" has The National's straightforward sense of space and pacing, with pounding bass and drums like a heartbeat, but elsewhere tracks like "Gaskiers" and "Stowaway" embrace the psychedelic atmospheres of the group's previous recordings. The LNZNDRF project feels like an interesting hybrid of two worlds.
