Guitar [Transparent Orange Vinyl] (LP)
Mac DeMarco
Amoeba Review
Mac Demarco gets chilled out on his easygoing, heavily acoustic new album, Guitar. This is some of Demarco's most barebones songwriting yet, creating a languid, cozy, warm atmosphere that carries through the album's run time. The tracks feel tender and homey; even when he's on the verge of touching something slightly unsettling, the default mode here is gentle, exploratory, almost soothing. Guitar is a grooved out, inviting album that finds Demarco at his most mellow.
