Barry Gibb, the last remaining Bee Gee, has released a new album of the legendary group's songs with a new twist. The songs are recreated here on this first volume of Greenfields by mostly country music artists, ranging from classic singers to pop-country stars to alt-country/Americana rockers. Dolly Parton lends her considerable talents to the 1968 single, "Words," dueting sweetly with Gibb on the chorus. Miranda Lambert brings her spunk to the always fun "Jive Talkin'" while Jason Isbell delivers soul and grit in "Words of a Fool." Gibb's vibrato is still present in his hushed vocals on these classics that remind us all just how broad a fanbase the Bee Gees still have.
