Flickering Resonance [Orange Vinyl] (LP)
Pelican
Amoeba Review
Flickering Resonance finds the band Pelican rejoined by founding guitarist Laurent Schroeder-Lebec after his ten-year break. It's also their first new album in six years, and its a feast of instrumental post-rock and doom metal. Lead single "Cascading Crescendo" is dense and heavy with propulsive guitar dropping into a moody bridge and adding lighter layers afterward. "Pining For Ever" reveals the band's songwriting chops by being quite melodic while remaining heavy.
