Fences - Biography
Vocalist and guitarist Christopher Mansfield formed Seattle-based indie rock project Fences with guitarist Benjamin Greenspan, later adding drummer Elliot Garm Chaffee and bassist Lindsey Starr to the mix. Mansfield's early solo work had previously caught the attention of Sara Quin of Tegan & Sara, who produced, recorded and contributed backing vocals to Fences' 2008 self-titled debut album. In 2011, Mansfield worked with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis on the track "Otherside" (Remix), joining the duo again a year later for "10,000 Hours" from their debut album The Heist, and collaborating once again for the new single by Fences, "Arrows."
Fences' sophomore album, Lesser Oceans, was released March 10, 2015. This spring, Fences is embarking on an extensive tour of the United States and Canada in support of the album.
