Harpist Mary Lattimore’s Collected Pieces: 2015-2020 combines pieces from her two rarities collections, Collected Pieces 1 (2017) and Collected Pieces II (2020), along with fan favorites and some more recent new-to-vinyl releases. The pieces traverse a diverse range of emotional territory but they all tie remarkably well together, Lattimore’s evocative compositions moving effortlessly from the somber and sorrowful to the shimmering and joyful. “Wawa by the Ocean” opens the collection with a serene vibe before segueing into the wistful, hopeful “We Wave from Our Boats,” an improvisation on community and social isolation in the early days of the 2020 lockdown. Album closer “Mary You Were Wrong” finishes up on a poignant, transcendent moment. A lovely snapshot of five years in an incredible musical career.
