In a lawless and violent time, six young outcasts are hired by an English merchant as "regulators" to guard his ranch against the mob, a corrupt and powerful ring. When their employer is killed in an ambush and the law is powerless to punish the killers, the Regulators declare war on the Ring. In the course of their vendetta, they become the object of the biggest manhunt in the history of the West. As their fame grows, so will the legend of their leader, a young gunman whom the newspapers are already starting to call Billy the Kid.
