Busdriver is an LA-based Hip-Hop MC who is known for his dadaist lyrics, absurdist humor, and rapid-fire delivery. Born Regan John Farquhar in Los Angeles, Busdriver started his Hip-Hop career early. His father was the screenwriter for Krush Groove, one of the first films to feature Hip-Hop as a storyline. Busdriver began rapping at age 9 and released his first album at age 13 with the group 4/29. He began attending open mic nights at The Good Life Cafe, a holistic cafe by day and Hip-Hop gathering place by night, and Project Blowed in the early and mid-'90s. Through those open mic nights, he met other Hip-Hop artists which led to his guest appearing on 20 singles before ever releasing his own record.
Busdriver released his debut album in 2001, Memoirs of the Elephant Man (Temporary Whatever Records), followed by 2002's Temporary Forever (Temporary Whatever Records). In 2003, he released The Weather on Mush Records with Radioinactive and Daedelus. In 2007, he released his first record for Epitaph, RoadKillOvercoat, which featured beats by Boom Bip and Nobody. His most recent (and ninth) album, Jhelli Beam (Epitaph), was released in 2009 and featured regular Busdriver collaborators Daedelus and Nobody.
