Black Cobra is a doom and sludge metal duo from the San Francisco Bay Area featuring Jason Landrian and Rafa Martinez. Although originally both from Miami, Landrian (vocals/guitar) and Martinez (drums) lived in New York and Los Angeles respectively, but began trading riffs in the mail and practicing sporadically. They released a three-song demo in 2004 and a full-length, Bestial (At a Loss Recordings), in 2006. They moved to San Francisco in 2007 and released their second album, Feather and Stone (At a Loss Recordings). After extensive touring across the US, Europe, and Japan, as well as on the strength of their previous two albums, Black Cobra was signed to Southern Lord Records and released Chronomega in 2009.
