Mind, Man, Medicine [Opaque Jade Color Vinyl] (LP)
The Secret Sisters
Amoeba Review
The Secret Sisters return with the soulful, rootsy Mind, Man, Medicine. These are songs about finding hard-won calm, through the perils of Covid, the struggles and rewards of raising children, and the realizations and cord-cuttings that come through personal growth. "Paperweight" is pure, enlivening Americana, evocative and romantic. "All the Ways" is slow-burn blues, featuring Ray LaMontagne on guest vocals. "Same Water" blends country twang with downtempo soul in an anthem for everyone who's just trying to feel ok. A richly rewarding album from one of Americana's finest acts.
