Eric Hilton's Midnight Ragas is an atmospheric, mood-setting downtempo album that ranks among his finest work. As one half of Thievery Corporation, Hilton is well-versed in evocative, jet-setting exotica and this new album showcases some of his most transportive, ecstatic tunes to date. Vocals in Spanish, English, and French are ethereal and enticing, the melodies are sultry and entrancing, almost unearthly in their blissfulness. Midnight Ragas is a lovely, sophisticated trip-hop album, the perfect soundtrack for when the clock strikes twelve.
