Love Is Dead is sweet as candy, a goth-tinged Tootsie Roll pop with a crystalline surface and a dark, satisfying core. The songs are anthemic, bold, and buoyant, but it’s not bubblegum pop — there’s too much intelligence and fusion of darkness and light. But damn, if it doesn’t hit the spot!
