Imaginary Appalachia [Opaque Olive Green Vinyl] (LP)
Colter Wall
Amoeba Review
It's been ten years since Canadian artist Colter Wall released his debut EP and introduced the world of country music to his gruff, gritty voice and storytelling chops. Gothic and moody, Imaginary Appalachia was a welcome change of pace - the direct antithesis to "Bro Country" - and it caught the ears of music supervisors for TV series like The Peripheral and films like Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. "The Devil Wears a Suit and Tie" and "Sleeping On The Black Top" have already earned their places in the outlaw country pantheon. This tenth anniversary color vinyl reissue includes live versions of those two songs from Wall's Original 16 Brewery Sessions plus new album cover art.
