In the wake of a presidential assassination, the governmental panel that had been assembled to investigate concluded it was the work of a lone gunman. One member-determined prosecutor Henri Volney (Yves Montand)-wasn't buying into that, and his efforts to reopen the matter only serve to bring him waves of peril. Long-sought suspenser, and thinly veiled dig at the Warren Commission, also stars Michel Etcheverry, Pierre Verney, Roger Planchon, Brigitte Lahaie.
