Lotus [Pinwheel Splatter Vinyl] (LP)
Little Simz
Little Simz is one of the freshest voices coming out of UK rap. Lotus is jam-packed with earworms, from the propulsive and brooding "Flood" to the grime-influenced, rather goofy "Young." It's a smart, entertaining, occasionally intense, and thoroughly enjoyable album with guest appearances from Sampha, Moonchild Sanelly, Lydia Kitto, Moses Sumney, Miraa May, Yukimi Nagano, Wretch 32, Cashh, Michael Kiwanuka, Yussef Dayes, and Obongjayar. An album informed by experimentation, evolution, and transformation, Lotus is a must hear.
The Easy Truth [Silver & Black Splash Vinyl] (LP)
Apollo Brown
Originally released in 2016, The Easy Truth showcases Apollo Brown & Skyzoo at their electrifying, invigorating best. Lush, imaginative, and just straight up gorgeous, the beats are simply stunning. Brown and his accompanying guest vocalists deliver lyrical thrills and chills that'll keep listeners glued to their speakers. Hearing The Easy Truth — whether it's for the first time or the hundredth — is a pure pleasure.
This Wasn't Meant For You Anyway [Red Vinyl] (LP)
Lola Young
London pop diva Lola Young puts it all on display on This Wasn't Meant For You Anyway. A swirling amalgam of styles, the British singer creates a colorful collage of pop, R&B, hip-hop, rock, and more. While ignoring all musical boundaries, the subject matter is as real as it gets on what she describes as “A contemporary breakup album.” On the chart-topping hit “Messy,” Lola laments the eternal struggle of interpersonal compatibility, while “Wish You Were Dead” vividly captures the turmoil of a blowup between lovers. The struggle is real, and Lola Young connects to you through her own.
Open Up Your Senses (CD)
Tyreek McDole
Tyreek McDole puts a contemporary spin on classic jazz with his soulful, vibrant debut, Open Up Your Senses . McDole's baritone won the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition two years ago; in the contest's twelve year history, he's one of only two male vocalists to do so. Listen and you'll understand why. The album swings, bringing a modern sensibility to jazz tradition with interpretations of legendary tracks by Thelonious Monk, Horace Silver, Ella Fitzgerald, and Louis Armstrong, plus a hypnotic take on the traditional Haitian chant “Wongolo Wale." A mood-setting, invigorating album by a name to watch.

SOGOLO [Zamrock Dust Color Vinyl] (LP)
Witch
Legendary Zambian rock band Witch return with a fiery, fantastic new album, SOGOLO . It's the group's second 2020s era release after a series of reissues of their original '70s and '80s records ten years ago. Rousing opener "Kamusale," with its heavy metal guitars and urgent vocals, is earthshaking and body-moving. "Nadi" is woozy and bewitching, an intriguing blend of psych rock and distorted electro vocals. "Queenless King" is upbeat and electrifying, with '60s style organ and swirling guitars. SOGOLO is imaginative and exciting, an album that'll remind you of the incredible power of music.
Requiem (LP)
keshi
Houston pop phenom Keshi marks a triumphant return with the stunning Requiem . Conceived in part as a tribute to a fallen friend and collaborator, Keshi lets raw emotion guide his songs. On tracks like “Soft Spot” and “Euphoria,” his style drifts further away from his earlier lo-fi sound in favor of a more exquisite production. Don’t miss this one.
Weird Faith (CD)
Madi Diaz
Themes of life, love, faith are explored on Weird Faith , the latest album from Madi Diaz. Coming off of a stint as a touring guitarist with Harry Styles, Diaz's unique style of introspective indie folk with a pop sheen uses minimal bells and whistles, her voice being the star of the show. The album also features "Don't Do Me Good," a duet with country star Kacey Musgraves.
Bare Bones Vol. II: Other Tunes & Arrangements (LP)
Jerry Garcia
The second installment in the Bare Bones collection captures the magic of Jerry Garcia and David Grisman's spontaneous musical reunion. This volume features unreleased recordings, including original versions of songs that became staples of their repertoire, and the very first spontaneous duo recording captured in Grisman's home studio.

Chimes After Midnight (CD)
Ruby Friedman
Ruby Friedman makes music for a more romantic, sepia-toned time. Her latest, Chimes After Midnight , is transportive, melancholic, and lovely. She's a rare talent, working in a genre space that sets her apart. Friedman's voice is smoky and melancholic, the voice of a 1920s chanteuse who's seen it all. Her songs tell tales of forgotten women...those who've been pushed aside, silenced, or simply lost to history. The hauntingly beautiful Chimes After Midnight will stay with you.
Dream Into It (CD)
Billy Idol
'80s rock icon Billy Idol follows up his EP The Cage with his first new studio album since 2014, Dream Into It . Featuring guests Avril Lavigne, Joan Jett, and Alison Mosshart of the Kills, the album is a decidedly fun blast of timeless rock n' roll. "Still Dancing" is a euphoric, fist-pumping ode to surviving the past and embracing the future. It's the perfect anthem for the seemingly ageless rocker who keeps giving it his all.
What Happened To The Heart? [Sea Blue Vinyl] (LP)
Aurora
The Norwegian artist Aurora was inspired to write her fifth studio album by a letter about global warming that was co-written by indigenous activists. Her magical blend of indie pop and disco-pop seems especially suited to such an important topic. "To Be Alright" is a lovely, airy track with a stirring melody that exudes a bright hopefulness. "Some Type of Skin" is full of euphoric swells punctuated by Aurora's soaring vocals, while "Your Blood" moves from a melancholy, dreamy verse to a lively chorus.
Violet [Violet Vinyl] (LP)
L.S. Dunes
Alt-rock supergroup L.S. Dunes has returned with their sophomore album, Violet , but there’s no slump to be found. The emo outfit, consisting of members of My Chemical Romance, Coheed and Cambria, Circa Survive, and Thursday, hang a left turn into post-hardcore territory, and deliver a hard-hitting hunk of impassioned rock. Guitarist Travis Stever (Coheed and Cambria) attests that “ Violet is a sonic journey into the depths of every band member of L.S. Dunes.”
