Try It Once Again / You've Got It

Shelly Lee Alley & His Alley Cats

Amoeba Review

11/01/2015

Shelly Lee Alley & His Alley Cats were one of the more well-known Western Swing acts in Texas back when this Vocalion 78 was recorded in 1938. The A-side starts with a swinging fiddle solo, followed by a ragged electric guitar solo, before Alley's vocals kick in; a clarinet then takes its turn before the finish.  The flip side is more of a bluesy, bouncy number. Music designed to help you cut loose on a Saturday night.
