No Treasure But Hope [Clear Vinyl] (LP)
Tindersticks
Amoeba Review
Tindersticks’ No Treasure But Hope is a tender, lush, richly conceived album packed with chamber pop gems. As expected, there are operatic moments with swelling arrangements to accompany frontman Stuart Staples’ powerful, distinctive voice. There are also sparser tracks, where Staples makes use of his propensity for spoken word, over brooding melodies. It’s a gorgeously plaintive recording that walks the line between fragile and hopeful. No Treasure But Hope should check all the right boxes for fans of this criminally underrated band.
