Prince Purple Rain Reissues

One of the greatest albums of all time (and the soundtrack to one of the best ever movies about music, too), Purple Rain, is getting reissued on June 23rd. Originally released in 1984, it's the first Prince album to feature his backing band, The Revolution. The following year, Purple Rain took home two Grammys -- one for Best Soundtrack and the other for Best Rock Performance -- as well as an Oscar for Best Original Song. This iconic album will be hitting shelves in four different versions, each of which offers something special. All four reissue versions are available to pre-order now on Amoeba.com and they'll ship FREE to the U.S.!

Here's why we're digging each one.
