In preparation for Chuuwee and Trizz’s forthcoming third installment in the popular AmeriKKa's Most Blunted (AMB) album series the acclaimed West Coast collaborative rap duo recently unveiled the video for the anticipated album’s Money Montage-produced lead single “Superbowl” (below). Additionally on Saturday night in Los Angeles they’ll headline a talent packed rap showcase at The Airliner Nightclub along with Traffic, Dreebo, Roc$teady and DJ Kieroglyphics. A longtime Amoeblog favorite, whom we first wrote about back in 2014 and last interviewed in 2016, this week once again Amoeba caught up with Chuuwee to talk about the forthcoming AMB album, Saturday's Airliner show, and his prolific career.

Uniquely talented the tireless 27 year old Sacramento born, San Diego based rapper is constantly working on his art. In the last nine years he's impressively prolific career he’s recorded over thirty mixtape and album releases. Mostly digital only found on his Bandcamp these also include such physical releases as his critically acclaimed 2015 full-length collaboration with the European production duo JR & PH7: The South Sac Mack

Trizz, Ashes n DustBy doubleay

Trizz hails from Los Angeles and Inland Empire, but he doesn’t believe everybody listening knows that. Trizz has developed a uniquely dedicated audience with fans scattered internationally, yet the he feels the misconception about where he’s coming from is all too common. The circulation of his music has transcended geographical bounds, but Trizz is making his origin the emphasis on his upcoming album, Ashes N Dust.

I spoke with Trizz about why he’s so motivated to make his roots clear and how he’s going to project his personal experiences for listeners with the new album.

You’ve got Ashes N Dust dropping December 15th. You’ve got G Perico on there, Robb $tone, and it’s entirely produced by AC3 Beats. Your last solo project dropped in 2016. What’s been motivating you musically since the last release?
Basically, just the way the industry has changed so much. I’ve noticed that I have to basically pump out singles every other two weeks to keep up with, you know, what’s going on because I want to stay relevant. I didn’t want to drop full-length albums so what I focused on was videos and singles. This year I dropped 13 videos. That included features I was on and, you know, building my brand and my marketing, you know what I’m saying? All building up to this moment to drop my album so I’m building a major platform.

Yeah, whether we’re here for it or not, this is the rate the industry is moving at currently and everybody is racing to keep up. You either have to adjust or you're in the dust.
Yeah, for me man, I’m trying to adjust but not change myself because of this game, while still going major with it.

Chuuwee-- By doubleay

Sacramento rapper Chuuwee has been smashing the underground scene for over seven years now and it's about time Hip-hop fans caught on. He is most known for his solo project South Sac Mack and his Amerikka’s Most Blunted (AMB) collaborations with East Los Angeles rapper Trizz. Between indie projects and working with Amalgam Digital, a digital record label who's artists have included the likes of Lil B and Max B, Chuuwee has a stacked discography under his belt. Chuuwee and Trizz’s collaborative album Amerikka’s Most Blunted was released in March of 2014 and generated a ton of positive buzz. Now, two years later, the duo is back with the sequel, Amerikka’s Most Blunted 2, via Below Systems Records. To learn more about the killer project and duo, I reached out to Chuuwee for an interview; we discussed everything from the artistic direction behind AMB2 to him being the first artist to film a fully volumetric virtual reality music video.

Amoeblog: Prior to Americas’s Most Blunted, you had an onslaught of solo projects. How did you and Chuuwee, Trizz, Amerikka's Most Blunted 2Trizz link up and start working together and collaborating?

The Sacramento / European Hip-Hop Connection: JR & PH7 X Chuuwee

JR & PH7 X Chuuwee - ''Meanwhile Off Mack''(2014)

Call it a Euro-Sacto mix. The brand new video release above of the hip-hop track "Meanwhile Off Mack," that was published yesterday with a full album to follow in the new year and a single track free download available now, showcases the combined talents of Sacremento's Chuuwee with the studio skills of the two European producers JR & PH7 - who hail from Germany and Denmark respectively.

In comparison to the Euro beatsmith duo who've been putting it down for a few years now and whose track record includes working with such other US emcess as Sean Price, Ras Kass, Skyzoo, and Saigon, the South Sacramento rapper Chuuwee has been prolific on the underground scene for a few years but is a relative newcomer to most of the hip-hop world. Odds are that this will all change with the forthcoming full-length release of this Euro-Sacto collaboration to be entitled The South Sac Mack and to be released by Below System Records. It's scheduled to arrive in Amoeba in early 2015. Watch this space for more details at that time.
