David Bowie Reissues

It's always a good day when new versions of classic David Bowie records hits our shelves, so with the release of six newly gussied up reissues, today is twice (um, make that six times) as nice! These releases are the latest in Parlophone's Bowie reissue campaign, featuring remastered audio on both CD and 180-gram heavyweight vinyl versions. Last fall, the three studio albums due today were included as part of the comprehensive Who Can I Be Now? [1974-1976] vinyl box; this is the first time the remastered versions have been available as individual LPs. Here's why each one is essential in its own special way.

Diamond Dogs

Diamond Dogs (1974)

An album Bowie himself described as "very political," Diamond Dogs was the artist's last stand in the arena of glam rock, and the first LP recorded and released after the retirement of his Ziggy Stardust persona. Also available on CD.

David Live

David Live [2005 Mix] (1974)

Bowie's first live LP was recorded during the first half of his US tour for Diamond Dogs. Fans can also expect tracks from Aladdin Sane and earlier Ziggy-related releases. Pick your pleasure: CD or vinyl.

Young Americans

Young Americans (1975)

Bowie moved from glam to R&B influences on Young Americans, which he recorded with a little help from Luther Vandross and Sly & the Family Stone drummer Andy Newmark. Like the other studio LPs released today, both the LP and CD versions feature audio from the 2016 remasters.

Station to Station

Station to Station (1976)

Bowie dreamed up his Thin White Dude incarnation for Station to Station, a melding of funk and krautrock influences that yielded one of his most loved LPs. Of course, it's available on CD, too.

Live at Nassau Coliseum 76

Live Nassau Coliseum '76 (1976)

Originally released as a bonus disc accompanying a special edition of Station to Station, this live LP was recorded in Uniondale, NY. The album represents an important transitional period leading up to his Berlin period. CD fans can get live, too.

Sound and Vision

Sound and Vision [40th Anniversary Edition Picture Disc 7"] (1977)

In honor of its 40th anniversary comes the release of this limited edition picture disc 7" of "Sound and Vision," a key single from Bowie's 1977 LP Low. The 7" features a 2016 remaster of the title track, backed with the first physical release of the 2013 remix.
