The Internet What's In My Bag?

LA-based soul band The Internet is comprised of Odd Future members Syd tha Kyd and Matt Martians, along with Jameel Bruner, Patrick Paige, Christopher A. Smith, and Steve Lacy. The group was formed in 2011 and they released their debut album, Purple Naked Ladies, that December via Odd Future Records.

The Internet Ego DeathThe band's sophomore release came in 2013 with Feel Good, which was followed by 2015's Ego Death. A joint release between Odd Future Records and Capitol Records, Ego Death features guest appearances from Janelle Monae, Vic Mensa, and Kaytranada. Ego Death is up for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 2016 GRAMMY Awards. In early 2016, The Internet will be touring through East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. If you live in the U.S., you can catch them later this year at Sasquatch and Bonnaroo.

The Internet stopped by Amoeba Hollywood recently to do a little record shopping. Syd tha Kid starts off this episode with an album by her favorite female artist. Bassist Patrick Paige shares a story about a band that got him through middle school. Guitarist/vocalist Steve Lacy picks up two Mac DeMarco albums and recounts his confusion seeing kids moshing at a Mac DeMarco concert.
