WHAT IS RECORD STORE DAY?

Record Store Day is an annual global celebration of independently owned record stores, our unique culture, and the important role record stores play in our local communities. Visit any Amoeba store on Saturday, April 22, 2023 for hundreds of limited edition releases available only at indie record stores, special one day store sales, guest DJ Dave Longstret h, RSD custom T-shirts and MORE!

RSD SPECIAL EVENTS:

4pm to 5pm

David Longstreth (Dirty Projectors) Guest DJ Set

Celebrating the release of the critically acclaimed collaborative album from Dirty Projectors + Bjork, the long out-of-print Mount Wittenberg Orca, which will be released in a new 2LP Expanded Edition for Record Store Day 2023.

Featuring DJ set by LENNY KAYE celebrating 50 years of Nuggets 

After your Record Store Day adventures, come enjoy the sunset from the rooftop of the Kimpton Everly Hollywood (one block walk up the street from Amoeba - 1800 Argyle Ave.) where we’ll celebrate RSD and the groundbreaking Nuggets compilation. Lenny Kaye will be spinning an all-vinyl set and if you are lucky enough to score a copy of the RSD Nuggets 5-LP Box Set release, bring it with you to have Lenny sign it after his DJ set!! Drink specials, enter-to-win prizes and giveaways!

NUGGETS: ORIGINAL ARTYFACTS FROM THE FIRST PSYCHEDELIC ERA, 1965-1968 (50^th ANNIVERSARY EDITION) will be released on Record Store Day as a 5-LP set. Limited to 10,000 numbered copies, it will be available exclusively at select independent music retailers.
