|The Dogon Lights - Live at Amoeba Berkeley on 6/22 at 6pm|
Join us at Amoeba Berkeley at 6pm that evening for a special Berkeley World Music Festival performance from The Dogon Lights (Pronounced "Doe-Gone”). This dynamic galactic groove machine is from right here in the Bay Area. A high-energy world fusion group, Dogon Lights creates an infectious and energetic dance atmosphere transporting the listener straight to the stars. The band members play traditional Moroccan and West African harps, lutes, shakers, and djembe drum with electric bass, guitar, synthesizer, drums, sax, and flute. The West African tones and upbeat rhythms blended with electro hip-hop beats and Jimi Hendrix-inspired guitar provide layered dimensions to this exciting music.
