Dutch-born author Michel Faber is best known for the novels Under the Skin (2000) and The Crimson Petal and the White (2002). In 2013, a film version of Under the Skin starring Scarlett Johansson and directed by Jonathan Glazer was released to critical acclaim.
Michel Faber recently visited Amoeba San Francisco and picked up an eclectic and esoteric selection ranging from folk to rock to experimental and beyond. He kicks things off with a vinyl copy of Santana's classic, Lotus, and waxes poetic about the beauty of vinyl packaging. Faber also digs up an interesting mixtape called Bill Cosby Talks To Kids About Drugs by DJ Female Convict Scorpion. Turn that on for some psychedelic turntablism madness! From obscure Norwegian black metal to the folk and country of Judy Collins, Michel Faber digs for it all.
